LIBERIA: WASH CSOs successfully commemorate Water Action Month

Civil Society Organizations in Liberia doing advocacy for safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene, have successfully commemorated Water Action Month (March 2017). The Liberia WASH CSOs commemorated the Month with series of activities, with support from WaterAid Liberia-Sierra Leone, ranging from sit in actions, radio and TV talk shows, among others. The commemoration of the day started with a radio Talk show at Fabric FM with George Karyah of the Liberia NGOs Network and Timothy Kpeh of United Youth for Education Development and Transparency appearing as guests on the show.

LIBERIA: Government, WASH Partners celebrate World Water Day 2017

Liberia has joined the rest of the world in observance of World Water Day 2017, which is annually celebrated March 22. The global theme of this year’s celebration is “waste water“ with the campaign theme: "Why waste water?" The official celebration started with a parade from the Monrovia City Hall to the William V.S. Tubman High School in Sinkor for the indoor program which brought together WASH actors from government, development partners and civil society.

The Evangelical Congregational Church of Liberia (ECCOL) has ended its 48th Liberia Annual Conference with several key projects earmarked for the development of the Church in Liberia. According to the Church, the 48th Liberia Annual Conference focused on uniting the Church(ECCOL), future activities and how the Church fits in the development of Liberia. The 48th Liberia Annual Conference of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Liberia (ECCOL) brought together about four hundred Delegates from 6 of the 15 counties of Liberia.

LIBERIA: Mano River Union Embarks on WASH Initiatives

Border communities in the Mano River Union (MRU) Basin will shortly benefit from the provision of safe drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene services. The Initiative is part of the Mano River Union WASH Programs in the river basin to assist rural communities have access to safe water provision in the area.

Liberia and the United Kingdom this week ended a One-Day Liberia-UK Trade and Investment Forum. The Forum held at the Monrovia City Hall Tuesday, was organized by the National Investment Commission in collaboration with the British Embassy in Monrovia (through its Foreign Commonwealth Office) and Developing Market Associates, a leading investment promotion firm for sovereign governments worldwide. The Forum was held under the theme: “Investment Opportunities in Liberia: Towards Inclusive Growth and Economic Diversification”
