Fish farming in Tanzania gets new impetus.

The Tanzania’s leading think tank institution the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) has yet conducted another potential training in fish farming which has benefited stakeholders from various circles. This is in its continued efforts to empower entrepreneurs and other people from all-walks -of life. Being one of the outreach programmes, 253 people benefited in multiple ways from watching documentaries, interactive lectures to exhibitions on the fish farms, ponds and tank fish keeping.

The decision by the European Investment Bank (EIB) to set-up a country office is a clear endorsement by Europe that Zambia is one of the best investment destinations in Africa, Minister of Finance, Felix Mutati, has said. ‘’The plan to set up a country office in Zambia by a Triple A (AAA) credit rated organisation like the European Investment Bank whose board of governors are Finance ministers in the entire European Union, means the international community is steadily appreciating the government’s algorithm for the economic recovery programme and stabilisation programme, Zambia-Plus,’’ Mr. Mutati elaborated.

China: African journalist counselled on enhancing tourism in Africa

African journalists have been counselled to enhance tourism in their continent through provision of online data. The call came in the wake of a seminar with the Chinese hosts. Through the discussions it was revealed that Africa has a lot of potentials in the tourism industry but there are a series of shortcomings that must be worked upon in order to rectify this situation. Speaking to a team of 28 visiting media practitioners from Africa, Mi Han the deputy director of the China National Tourism Administration responsible for marketing and international co-operation department for Asia, Oceania and Africa Division disclosed what his department has observed so far.

Liberia and the United Kingdom this week ended a One-Day Liberia-UK Trade and Investment Forum. The Forum held at the Monrovia City Hall Tuesday, was organized by the National Investment Commission in collaboration with the British Embassy in Monrovia (through its Foreign Commonwealth Office) and Developing Market Associates, a leading investment promotion firm for sovereign governments worldwide. The Forum was held under the theme: “Investment Opportunities in Liberia: Towards Inclusive Growth and Economic Diversification”
