North American Alumni of Prestigious Sierra Leonean School to Hold a Fundraising Event to Fund Solar-Powered Panel Computer Lab

Christ the King College Alumni Association of North America (COBA-NA) will be hosting a fundraising event on Saturday June 8 2013 from 5pm to 1am at the Ukranian Hall, 4250 Harewood Road NE, Washington DC. Ticket prices are $100.00 and $50.00. Key note speaker is Dr. Austin Demby and Master of Ceremonies is Mr. Gerald Foday.

Several Alumni from other international branches will be in attendance to support the fundraising efforts of COBA-NA, including Mr. Charles Hubbard of the COBA-UK branch.

COBA-NA President, Andrew Jawa Thomas, states that the organization needs to raise $45,000.00 to fund its flagship project of providing a Solar-Powered Panel Computer Lab for the school. The funds needed will cover 30 computers with backup batteries and servers and also include shipping and installation.

Christ the King College (CKC), commonly known as the Royal College of the South, is located in Bo Town, Sierra Leone. The school was founded in 1954 by the Roman Catholic Mission. Since its foundation, CKC has become renowned for academic excellence attracting students from all over Sierra Leone and across West Africa. Today many of such former students serve in various outstanding capacities in Sierra Leone and across the globe.
