Sadc complete list of participants and resource persons

SADC Poetry festival organizing committee has released a complete of poets and visual artists who will attend the event in Gaborone, Botswana from 27 to 29 August.

The festival in its second year after its inauguration in Windhoek, Botswana last year is organized by artsinitiates-southern Africa and Township Productions of Namibia.
The artists drawn from the region are: Zimbabweans poets Batsirai Chigama, Tinashe Muchuri, Bhekumusa Moyo and Siphosethu Mpofu.
From Zambia will come visual artist Mwamba Mulangala; Tania Tome from Mozambique, Sandile Nxumalo from Swaziland, Sheila Khala from Lesotho, South Africans Zanele Muholi, Donna Smith, Pamela Dlungwana and Bandile Gumbi; Namibia, Tuselde Kasita and Shiya Karuseb.
Resource person are: University of Zimbabwe lecturer, Memory Chirere and National Arts Gallery of Zimbabwe curator, Raphael Chikukwa, SA Donna Smith and Bandile Gumbi.
This year the Alliance Francaise de Gaborone will host the festival while its sister institution, the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre in Windhoek is a partner along side the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, Extrapillar of Botswana and Black Bremer of Swaziland.
The festival’s theme this year is My Voice, Your Hand and the participants – poets and visual artists are required to work together in creating both a visual art piece and a poem.
