Lycamobile unveiled as co-sponsor of Zim Achievers Awards

The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) has announced Lycamobile as a co-sponsor of the third edition of the prestigious event scheduled for Saturday, 20 April at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in South Kensington, London.

Lyca MobileGroup chairman of Lycamobile, Subaskaran Allirajah said: “Lycamobile is always looking for ways to give back and say thank you to the communities who regularly use our service to call home. The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards make a fantastic partner for us at Lycamobile and provide us with a chance to thank our customers for their continued loyalty,” he said.

“We are excited to join them in honouring members of the Zimbabwean community who have shown excellence, creativity, innovation and dedication over the last 12 months,” he added. The pre-paid mobile SIM card provider offers high-quality international and national calls and has acquired over 20 million customers across 15 countries. Lycamobile offer competitive rates to Zimbabwe at 12p per minute for landlines and 35p per minute for mobiles.

ZAA Chief Executive Conrad Mwanza said: “We welcome Lycamobile’s support as a show of confidence in our community and also as an expression of their shared hope in the success of our home country. We’re happy to be associated with their brand which is well known for offering a valuable international calling service that is enjoyed widely, including by members of our own community.”

Now in its third year, the ZAA is a distinctly special awards ceremony seeking to recognise Zimbabweans who have pushed the limits against all odds to raise the Zimbabwean flag high and do both themselves and their fellow countrymen proud.

Now a prominent red carpet fixture on the African community calendar, the ZAA is the only event that pays tribute to Zimbabwean success across all walks of life, emphasising outstanding achievements and highlighting inspirational role models across many fields, including business, sport, entertainment, philanthropy and popular arts and culture.
