By Staff Reporter – JOHANNESBURG – South African Baha’is are gravely concerned for the welfare and safety of Iran’s seven imprisoned Baha’i leaders who have been transferred to more brutal sections of their prison complex. The seven Baha’i leaders were initially arrested in 2008 and held at Tehran’s Evin prison for 20 months without charges. They were then accused of espionage and organizing religiously activities illegally among other allegations. All charges were denied. After a brief trial, they were sentenced to 10 years in prison. By Own Correspondent – At least 20 people have now been confirmed dead and more than 300 injured following the ammunition explosions in the Gongo la Mboto base Tanzania Peoples’ Defense Force (TPDF) camp. The Chief of Staff of the army, Lieutenant President consoles a child in Amana Hospital General, Abdulrahman Shimbo, told reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the Muhimbili National Hospital alone recorded more than 83 injuries and 18 deaths. Ghana: Life without limbs… but ten year old amputee looks forward to the future with hope

A ten year old girl’s dream of becoming a teacher now hangs in the balance after she lost both legs in a motor accident at Agyareago, near Konongo-Odumase in the Ashanti Region. Leticia Aduako, a class two pupil was crushed by a car driven by an unlicensed driver, resulting in the amputation of her limbs, just below her hips, at the Komfo Teaching Hospital. Two years after the accident, Leticia is optimistic of living her dream, despite challenges from her physical limitation. By Hassan Abbas, Dodoma – The National Assembly yesterday unanimously selected the Maswa legislator, John Magare Shibuda (Chadema) to represent the National Assembly in the National Governing Council (NGC) of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Tanzania chapter. Mr. Shibuda went unopposed after rulling party CCM’s Martha Umbula (Special Seats) withdrew from the race due to unknown reasons. “Until Sunday only two lawmakers had filled in and returned the forms.
