Tanzania to receive governance assessment team

By Shout-Africa Correspondent – The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has invited the APRM Country Review Mission (CRM) to visit Tanzania from 2-23 March 2012. The Mission, comprising experts from other African countries, will interact and consult extensively with governance stakeholders being government officials, parliamentarians, representatives of political parties, the business community, representatives of civil society including media, academia, trade unions, civil society organizations(CSOs), community based organizations (CBOs), rural communities and development partners. Zambia: USAID launches ZMK122 trillion educational project

By Nawa Mutumweno – The United State Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a $24 million (ZMK122 trillion) education reform project in Zambia. The Strengthening Education Performance (STEP-UP) Zambia project is intended to support the Ministry of Education, Science and Vocational Training, to reform the education sector in Zambia. USAID education team leader Wick Powers said in a statement issued in Lusaka recently that the project would run for five years. Gambia Settles for AU Peace Council

This was contained in a statement signed by LPRC Board of Directors, the statement further says that Japan had already written to authorities at the Ministry of Commerce informing government of the grant, The Board of Directors, the highest decision-making body of the company further disclosed that the grant is expected to arrive in Liberia this year.
