U.S. hosts ‘job creation’ apps development brainstorming session

Ghana’s President cut short trip to visit site of Collapsed Melcom store

By Morkporkpor Anku (Accra, Ghana) – Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has cut short his visit to the northern part of the country on Wednesday, and visited the site of the collapsed Melcom store in Achimota a suburb of the Accra. On Wednesday a five-storey shopping centre collapsed in Ghana killing at least one person and leaving several dozen people trapped in the rubble. The President had ordered an investigation into why the building, which opened earlier this year, collapsed. The United Nations Regional Humanitarian coordinator for the Sahel Friday met the vice president and minister of Women’s Affairs, Her Excellency Aja Dr. Isatou Njie-Saidy at her office in State House. David Gressly was accompanied to State House by officials of the UN country team in The Gambia.
