UK: Tech Start-up, Reveals Key Findings on Estate Agents ‘Going Mobile’

propertgonemobiFollowing last week’s popular announcement of the heat wave that had record UK mobile visitors visiting the Rightmove website, mobile website developers ‘PropertyGoneMobi’ have this week experienced a surge in enquiries from estate agents across the country keen to understand how ‘Going Mobile’ can improve their property businesses.

Simon Kaguramamba  a Zimbabwean born award winning ‘Young Entrepreneur’ who founded the, Birmingham based, mobile start-up took a few minutes to share 3 key findings made from other agents who have already gone mobile with PropertyGoneMobi.

1.      One in five enquiries made by a mobile visitor

Most Agents will confirm that between 60 and 85% of leads and enquires come through their website. Unfortunately only a few have realised that between 5 and 10% of website visitors already coming to their website are mobile visitors who are simply leaving due to the website not being compatible with their devices. Agents can boost their leads by up to 5% every month by simply having a mobile optimised view of their property listings.

2.      iPhone users also love the browser

There is currently a debate taking place in certain circles of the property industry as to why independent agents would want to launch an iPhone app rather than just a mobile website? From the stats we’ve collected the iPhone has been the most popular mobile device used to access property listings on agents’ websites.  The one thing to point out is that the visits recorded in our stats were generated by iPhone users using their ’iPhone browser’ to view the property listings not an installed app. I’ve always believed that the mobile website is the cheapest and most effective way for an agent to ‘Go Mobile’ as they can reach up to 95% of all mobile phone users including the iPhone user base.

3.      If visitors know you have a mobile website they will use it

One of the key reasons why Rightmove are able to generate high volumes of mobile users is simply due to home hunters knowing that Rightmove can be accessed via mobile devices. We have found that where agents simply informed their website visitors of the mobile alternative, the visitors would be more inclined to visit the website direct from their mobile next time they are away from a computer.

Simon went on to say, “due to the type of enquiries we received this week, we have decided to launch a free trial plan for agents who want to test the waters before investing in a mobile marketing channel. Signup is free and their mobile property listings can be up and running in just hours”. The Trial package will complement the current ‘Monthly pay’ and ‘Pay per Lead‘options currently available on their website.
