The Daily Maverick newspaper on December 3rd, 2019 published an article titled thus: "Tanzania’s stolen civic elections: An urgent call to action" The article that leaves a lot of questions to be asked and answered, but simply politically calculated to tarnish the image of our country, Tanzania, seems to have been written, edited somewhere and published by a Tanzanian Zitto Kabwe, Opposition MP. Zitto’s article uses the just 2019 ended local elections in Tanzania as a case study to build his accusations on Tanzania's democracy.

China supports Tanzania’s position on Zimbabwe sanctions

China has joined the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Chairman, Tanzanian President Dr. John Magufuli in supporting the lifting of economic sanctions against Zimbabwe. A number of nations including the European Union, the United States of America and some Multilateral Organizations, have slapped Zimbabwe with economic sanctions. Tanzania raised its position during the just ended UN General Assembly meeting in New York recently. The same was echoed this week when President Magufuli met leaders of the Asia-Africa Legal Consultative Forum (AALCO) during their annual meeting in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzanian President Magufuli address statesman at the 6th African Leadership Forum

President of the United Republic of Tanzania and SADC Chairman, Dkt. John Pombe Magufuli has reminded African Statesmen why the Continent remains poor amidst vast richness of natural resources. He cited lack of innovation, industrial technology and misinterpretation of developmental foundations to be two main causatives of resources mismanagement leading to poverty in the African continent.
