UK: Campaign to re-elect Boris kicks off

Boris Johnson has started his campaign for re-election as London Mayor in the 2012 elections.

The campaign was launched over the weekend in Barking by members of the conservative party from Barking and London where all members agreed to kick start on a door to door campaign in the efforts to canvass for votes for Boris Johnson come 2012.

The campaigning team that masterminded the campaign to re-elect Boris Johnson included John Moss a Conservative candidate for City and East, Syed Camall a member of the European Parliament (MEP) for London, Andrew Boff a member of the London Assembly, Richard Semitego the Events/Fundraising Secretary for the Conservative Party in Barking and Lauretta Onochie, Conservative councilor candidate for Barking 2010 candidate among others.

Team launched a door-to-door campaign to urging people to register for 2012 Mayoral Elections as well as canvassing for votes for Boris.

John Moss who led the team stressed that there is need to start underground campaigns that will see the re-election of Boris Johnson so that he can improve service delivery to Londoners.

He urged all members of the team to promote the door to door campaign and to urge people in their localities to register for 2012 elections.

MEP for London, Syed Camall and Andrew Boff pledged to support and promote the campaigning team in order for the Conservatives to win the re-elections.

The Events/ Fundraising Secretary for the Conservative Party in Barking, Richard Semitego called upon the ethnic minority to support and participate in Community Work.

Semitego said it’s high time for ethnic minority in London came out and get involved in active Politics and Community work for full integration and giving back to our Communities in respective areas.

Boris Johnson, beat his main contestant Ken Livingston in 2008 Mayoral Elections by 42.48% to 36.38% and is looking forward to do it again in May 2012 to keep his seat as Mayor of London.
