The Y FM Campus Express presenter has been named in seven different categories; the highest so far in this year’s edition. Shout-africa.com, in a chatted with him at the launch of the Ghana Music Awards launching at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. Seen so humble and friendly Trig as many called him was excited about the nominations and wonders “is this year my year ” many Ghanaian youth and young at heart will say “this is his year”. Looking a back to the youth dominated hiplife sector Trig ,according to many music critics in the country ,whose views were sought on the young Ga-English rapper said he has a bright future and winning about 4 of the awards will spear him to bring a revolution in the industry as well motivate other young ones.
Trigmatic is tipped to win awards in all seven categories including; Hiplife/hip hop artiste of the year, Discovery of the year, Best Rapper of the year, Record of the year, Song writer of the year, Album of the year and Hip hop song of the year. Being his maiden appearance in the nominations of the Ghana Music Awards, the talented musician loved by Ghanaians for his voice and referred to by many as ‘artiste of the moment’ hopes to sweep all the awards in the seven categories. This year’s Ghana Music Awards Ceremony is slated for the 9th of April live at the entertainment powerhouse now in Ghana with approximately 2,500 seating capacity –the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre. The event will be preceded by the Ghana Music Awards Dialogue and the Ghana Music Awards Nominees party.
Despite many people thinks that DJ’s and Presenter use the advantage of the medium to promote their works and this have been seen by the underprivileged as an advantage our many musicians, which goes a long way to promote their work while their colleagues have to pay huge sums of monies to promote their works, then the question come, as to “is this fair play in the music industry”
