zaafa By Peterking Quaye ,from Accra,Ghana for Shout-Africa.com  – The African Films Festival and Academy Awards- ZAFAA .ZAFAA entry forms for  the awards this year are out , The nominations, which take immediate effect, closes on May 20, to allow O’je entertainment, the organizers, to hold the grant event in London, from October 20 to 22 this year.

Mr. Sam Anwuzia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the O’je Entertainment told journalists, in a response to an earlier question, that the ZAFAA would never come to Africa. “We’re currently thinking about another entertainment award which could be held in Africa, but as for the ZAFAA, to be frank with you, it’ll remain in Europe,” he insisted, ruling out the possibility that, one day in the future, the awards would be held elsewhere on the continent.

Speaking at the media interaction ,Star actors Majid Michel explain what has help him in the acting industry .For reasons he still claims stark ignorance of, Ghallywood star actor Majid Michel can now let the cat out of the box about his arrest and detention in Lebanon sometime in 2010.

Born to a Lebanese father  and a Ghanaian mother, Majid was transiting  in the Western Asian country from London (UK), immediately after picking his first-ever career award as the Africa Best Actor at the African Films Festival and Academy Awards- ZAFAA.

The trip was to enable him to briefly visit his paternal family members, as well as show them the award, before returning to Ghana. Majid Michel was not lucky, as he was arrested and detained by security operatives immediately he touched down at the airport. On the contrary he said  “I was lucky that I had the award statuette with me, which caused my release,” he narrated, evading as to what exactly his offence was. Majid on this occasion came out with the story for the very first, a year after the incident, at a brief ceremony in Accra last Saturday, to officially announce the opening of nominations for this year’s ZAFAA.
