By Peterking Quaye – Ghana has become Africa’s best football nation after edging Egypt to the top spot on the continental table released Wednesday by Fifa.
The Black Stars accumulated 940 points after adding up 16 more points to become the continent’s number one side and are now placed 15th on the world ranking table for February.
Ivory Coast move to second with Egypt falling to third.
According to Fifa, the significant devaluation of the points won a year ago at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations contributed to the changes in the rankings this month.
Though changes were recorded in mostly in the African ranking order, world champions, Spain still leads the the overall standing followed by the Netherlands and Germany in third position.
