Ghana football team to play South Korea and Sierra Leone

By Own Correspondent with support from Ghanasoccernet  – Ghana will play South Korea in an international friendly in June according to GHANAsoccernet.com. The match will be played in Seoul on 7 June just two days after the Black Stars home clash with Congo.

This means the Ghanaians face a long journey to Korea after the energy sapping game in Accra.

Despite the long travel involved, the match will give Coach Goran Stevanovic a chance to continue to build a formidable side for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana is the highest ranked African nation at 15th and Korea is currently ranked 31st. In a head-to-head match Korea has a 1-0-2 (Win Draw Lose)  record against Ghana .

Sierra Leone will host Ghana in an international friendly in Freetown on 30 April. The match is part of series of activities lined-up to celebrate Sierra Leone’s golden jubilee this month.

But the two teams are expected to play with mainly home-based players as the match is not taking place within the calendar for friendly international fixtures set up by football’s world governing body, Fifa.

Both countries will use the game match as part of their preparation for June’s 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Sierra Leone currently third in group G will host Niger on 4 June whilst Ghana, who are top of Group I, entertain Congo the same weekend.
