Ghana: Angola beat Liberia 1-0 at the 3rd Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football

By Peterking Quaye, Accra-Ghana – In the second match of the ongoing 3rd Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football (CAN 2011), Angola beat Liberia 1-0 at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC) Park in Accra. The goal was scored in the 20th minute of the first half.

The defending Champion Liberia suffered this defeat at the time more is expected of them back in Liberia. Speaking to coach Morrison after he had a view of a Liberia title win again despite the defeat in the first game, he urged all Liberian based in Ghana to come in their numbers to support the team.

Host country, Ghana yesterday lost 2-0 and that poses a real challenge to the host country after they were the first to arrive, and back in Liberia they had a promise to bring the giant trophy at stake. The tournament will not be played on the traditional soccer pitch according to the World Amputee Federation rules and the finals is expected on the 26th of October, 2011.

There will be two matches at ATTC tomorrow, Tuesday, 22nd November, Sierra Leone versus Niger (Group A) and Angola versus Nigeria (Group B) but 24th November, is set as a rest day.
