Ghana’s Black Stars now 15th in the World and Africa’s best team on Fifa new ranking

Black Staellite winning teamBy Own Correspondent with support from FIFA – Ghana’s Black Stars have moved a place up to the 15th position according to the latest rankings released by world soccer governing body, Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).


Black Stars SA PICTUREThe Stars lost 13 points and are on 918 points, but maintain their position as the best ranked team on the continent. According to the rankings released by FIFA on Wednesday, the Black Stars are also the only African team in the top 20, with Cote d’Ivoire closest on the 21st position.

The latest rankings is still one place shy of the Stars all-time best ranking of 14th position attained in February 2008. The top 10 in Africa is complete with Cote d’Ivoire (867 points), Egypt (676 points), Nigeria (637 points), South Africa (616 points), Algeria (609 points), Burkina Faso (600 points), Cameroon (572 points), Senegal (561 points and Libya (534 points) in that order. World champions, Spain maintain their place as the World’s number one whilst Netherlands, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, England, Uruguay, Portugal, Italy and Croatia complete the top 10.
