Conde Nast Turns Down Cameeroonian Photographer

Vogue Africa

Conde Nast has turned down Cameroonian photographer Mario Epanya’s ambitious proposal for an African edition of Vogue. “DEAR ALL,” Epanya said on his Facebook page:”The Wait is over. Condé Nast said NO to an African license of VOGUE. So this is the last cover. Enjoy, but it’s a beginning of something.”

Though we feel that “Vogue Africa” was an idea whose time has come, perhaps there is something to the criticism of the idea in the first place. Does African fashion need Vogue to validate it?
