Disney Channel Movie Premieres On South African Televison
By Novell Zwange – JOHANNESBURG – The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) has announced that the eagerly anticipated original movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” will premiere on Disney Channel South on Saturday September 18th at 09:00.

The international family entertainment announced at a media preview last Friday that the biggest musical event is now available in an Extended edition with never–seen-before scenes and songs directly from the new Disney Channel Original Movie, giving viewers a taste of the action to come.
“I Wouldn’t Change A Thing” is the fourth music video from “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” to air on Disney Channel South Africa “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” will premiere in the South Africa this September with stars the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato reuniting for another great summer of music and fun.
The musical sees Mitchie (Demi Lovato) and friends return to Camp Rock, eager to rock and and mesmerise their international audiences. Nobody’s more excited than Mitchie, who anticipates more than a summer of music. Fresh from a world tour, the rock band Connect 3 is also hanging out there all summer – Shane (Joe Jonas) to pursue last summer’s crush on Mitchie, his band mates as moral support. Guitar legend Brown Cesario (Daniel Fathers), Camp Rock’s owner, is ready to rock ‘n roll.
Since its premiere, “Camp Rock” has reached over 137 million unduplicated viewers, and its soundtrack has sold 2.5 million CDs worldwide while spending a remarkable 10 weeks in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart in the US.
“Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” was written by Dan Berendsen (Disney’s “Hannah Montana The Movie” and “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie”) and the team of Karin Gist and Regina Hicks. It is based on characters created by Karin Gist, Regina Hicks, Julie Brown and Paul Brown. The director and co-producer is DGA Award winner Paul Hoen (Disney Channel’s “The Cheetah Girls One World” and “Jump In”). The producer is Kevin Lafferty and the executive producer is Alan Sacks. “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam” is a production of Coin Flip Productions, Ltd and Alan Sacks Productions.
The original Camp Rock 2: The Final soundtrack was released on the 9th of August featuring all of the songs from the film including Can’t Back down, fire and wouldn’t Change a Thing.
As from the 1st of October audiences can also become part of the fun at Camp Rock 2, by creating their own customised avatar and joining Mitchie, Shane and all the other camp Rockers as they explore music camp and prepare against archrival, Camp Star.
The Channel also unveiled South African stars, rapper HHP, pop star Jesse Clegg, and top presenter Pabi Moloi, who will appear as celebrity guests at My Camp Rock Road Shows scheduled for Cape Town and Pretoria respectively for the 11th and 12th of this month.
The Walt Disney Company has been active in South Africa for over 50 years. In 2006 the Channel launched on the Multichoice DStv platform and in 2009 was voted Number 1 favourite TV channel in South Africa in the Sunday Times Generation NeXT survey.
