Maimane to encourage South Africa brain gain

Mmusi-MaimaneJOHANNESBURG – South African politician Mmusi Maimane has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for Speed Meet Africa.

Speed Meet Africa introduces UK-based Africans to employers and relocation providers in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and other African countries.

Over 350,000 South Africans have returned home over the past 5 years in what is being termed a ‘reverse brain drain’ and according to trade union Solidarity, for every 1 person that returns home, 9 jobs are created in the informal and formal sectors.

Mmusi says building a better South Africa requires the help of all South Africans, at home and abroad.

“South Africa needs the skills and expertise of its people, for it is not only politicians who have a responsibly to build a better South Africa.”

He says South Africa is at a point where hard decisions need to be made about the direction its citizens want to take it in.

“I call upon South Africans abroad to make the decision to come back home, and contribute to making South Africa into the place we dreamed of in 1994. Let’s fulfil the promise of 1994.”

Mmusi says South Africans shouldn’t just sit on the sidelines but rather actively get involved in making the country a better place.

“Come back home and build the South Africa of your dreams.”

Comments Angel Jones CEO of Homecoming Revolution, “Homecoming Revolution is delighted to welcome a new generation of visionary leadership for our wonderful country. Mmusi’s presence will inspire many South Africans to find the leader within themselves to build the South Africa we all dream about.”
